Valentine's Day is around the corner. Are you excited? Nervous? Or filled with dread? For me, it's an excuse to eat chocolate and drink champagne, alone, with a boyfriend, or some girlfriends. And I'm freaking always down for champagne and chocolate - So yeah, I kinda love Valentine's Day.
But you are here for the gift suggestions and man, do I have some. GO DO SOMETHING together! What's one thing you've been talking about wanting to do, or go see, or experience, but keep finding excuses NOT to do it? THAT'S exactly what you should give each other. Make the time and effort to do it. Don't have any ideas, here's what I would do (and I live in Northern California):
- Ride bikes across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sam's (where you can catch the ferry back to SF) and drink extra dirty martini's before taking the Ferry back
- Go stay at one of the hotels with hot springs in Calistoga's wine country, go wine tasting, eat delicious food, and soak in the hot springs
- Tour the Lagunitas Brewing Company
- Drive up highway 1 and camp in a beautiful beach front camping spot (BYOB champagne and chocolate)
If you need a gift for a woman, go for a spa treatment, like a 90 minute massage. But don't buy anything off of Groupon, splurge in the fancy one. Find one that has a steam room or sauna and make sure it's above and beyond what she would do for herself. Spend time finding a good one and let her know why you chose it.
"Oh, honey, I know how much you love reading about Chakras and this spa has Chakra specific treatments, totally made me think of you."
-Someone's Getting Lucky
Steer clear of the flowers and box of chocolates, unless they are additional to something fucking awesome.
